  No-one wants to risk spoiling their secret spots, but this site does deserve to be better known, if only to reward the owners, who have made our stay a wonderful experience! The quiet, grassed site is beautifully maintained, with no grass cuttings left to get everywhere. The shower and toilets are clean, with soap, shower gel and paper towels. The whole area was fenced in so we knew our dog was safe. There is a pleasant walk to the fishing lake., which made a good dog walk, past the Devon Red Cattle. We were able to pitch with a view across the countryside. The owners are knowledgable about the area, so we were able to see cranes from the nearby Parrett Trail. Cycling in the immediate area is not for the faint-hearted, but there are other places nearby. We visited the nearby free Willow Centre, with an informative tour (£4.50) and various walks. Muchelney Abbey was an easy cycle ride from Langport, itself an interesting small town. People were friendly and we leave with a much deeper understanding of the problems faced by the residents of the Somerset Levels. We look forward to returning to this site, though it would be a shame if we had it to ourselves again!
